 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. ARMED ROBBERY AND CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY 


On  23rd January 2024 at about 0300hrs, a team of detectives attached to 'C’ Division Headquarters in collaboration with a quasi-security outfit on visibility policing patrol arrested the following suspects:

1. Musbahu Umar ‘m’ aged 23yrs of Tirwun area Bauchi 

2. Salim Hamisu ‘m’ aged 30yrs

3. Sadiq Nura AKA Abba ‘m’ aged 22yrs 

4. Abubakar Aliyu ‘m’ aged 22yrs 

5. Mohammed Mohammed AKA Abba ‘m’ aged 20yrs 

All of Unguwan Shongel and Tirwun areas respectively. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the offense.


Investigation revealed that the suspect was from Kano State. He rented two (2) houses at Shehu Wunti Housing Quarters after coming to Bauchi through one Jamilu Isah ‘m’ of ‘Yankaba Kano State to connive with other members of the gang and terrorize Bauchi communities, particularly Shehu Wunti Housing Quarters. 


The suspects armed with dangerous weapons criminally conspired among themselves and trespassed into a house belonging to one Dr. Kabiru Umar ‘m’ of Shehu Wunti Quarters Bauchi, and attempted to rob him of his car, a Peugeot dark-blue in color and other valuable items. But they were chased and arrested.


The following items were recovered from them: 

1. Two (2) empty white leaders of new martchetes 

2. One (1) Hunda Car ignition key

3. Two (2) Qlink motorcycle ignition keys were recovered.


Investigation is ongoing to trace and arrest the remaining gang members, after which the defendants will be profiled and charged to court for the established offenses.
