 NIGERIAN FILM "MY FATHER’S SHADOW" MAKES HISTORY, SET TO PREMIERE AT Y2025 CANNES FILM FESTIVAL  . . . "This is a proud moment for Lagos and Nigeria" - Sanwo-Olu The Nigerian film industry has scored a major international milestone as "My Father’s Shadow", a powerful drama rooted in the country's political and cultural history, is set to premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival this May. Written by Wale Davies and Directed and co-written by Akinola Davies Jr., "My Father’s Shadow" is a collaborative production between Nigerian producer Funmbi Ogunbanwo of Fatherland Productions and UK-based producer Rachel Dargavel of Element Pictures. The film, shot in Lagos and Ibadan, explores the emotional aftermath of the 1993 presidential election and its impact on a father-son relationship. “At 28, single and childless, Men only wants to sleep with me” – Lady cries out over inability to find love and start a family

A 28-year-old lady @IamMbali_M, has taken to social media to pour out her emotions, expressing the challenges she faces in finding love and starting a family.

The young lady, who acknowledged God’s favour in her life, shared her struggle with the societal expectations surrounding relationships and motherhood.

“It breaks my heart that at the age of 28, I’ve got no child & I can barely find love that’s secure, I don’t even think at my big age I know how it feels to be loved however, I’m so grateful for Gods’ favour & pray that he gives me the strength to accept what isn’t meant for me,” the lady wrote.

Despite her concerns, @IamMbali_M demonstrated gratitude for the successes in her life, mentioning her job, car, and progress toward further education and property ownership.
She questioned whether it was wrong to desire more, prompting a reflective discussion on societal expectations and personal aspirations.

In a follow-up tweet, she shared some of her personal achievements.

“I’ve got a job, I’ve got a car. I’m 2 board exams away from admission, better pay & property. Is it wrong to just yearn for something else?,” she added.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
