 STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY   With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi.   As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child.   I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them.   Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour.   My prayers are with the family.   Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria January 8, 2026

Can you catch smoke”? Very Dark Man questions Tonto Dikeh, others as he celebrates his release

Popular self proclaimed human rights activist, VeryDarkMan has returned to his Instagram, celebrating his release after videos and photos of him being detained emerged yesterday.

e shared a video on his page showing off his dance moves to music, while wearing a white skirt and adorned with beads. As he danced to the beats, he captioned the post, 

“Can you catch smoke? Google the RATEL and come back…..Aluta continua”

He also sign-off, with the words Aluta Continua,” hinted at his determination to continue to toe his path.

This comes after Tontodikeh disclosed on her Instagram yesterday that she had successfully arrested VeryDarkMan. Recall that Tonto Dikeh had shared images and videos yesterday showing the arrest, including scenes of him with his lawyer and moments of him signing documents. 

In her captions, she expressed her distaste her to falsehoods and revealed that VeryDarkMan, in her view, was still a child without the right to express negative opinions about adults and elders.

The backdrop to this arrest started with past clashes between VeryDarkMan and Tonto dikeh, regarding the Mobad case. VeryDarkMan previously criticized Tonto dikeh, especially in connection with her involvement in the Mobad situation.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
