 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. The administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji is investing massively in the Waste Management sector with a view to drastically reducing the spate of indiscriminate dumping of refuse at unauthorized places across the State.


The Director General, Ekiti State Waste Management Authority(EKSWMA),Mr Sunkanmi Onipede on Friday took the Director General, Office of Community Communications,Mrs  Mary Oso- Omotosho round some of the facilities being put in place by the State Government to ensure a cleaner environment.


Mr Onipede who was accompanied by the General Manager EKSWMA , Engnr Ayoola Osalusi took  the DG, Community Communications to  some of the refuse trucks and facilities also noted that the state government has invested impressively in the area of waste management towards ensuring a cleaner Ekiti State.


The DG EKSWMA showed the first batch of dino bins being fabricated for the use and benefit of Ekiti people stating that the bins will be located at strategic locations across the State for proper waste collection and to end the menace of indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the medians, market road sides  and other places littered by refuse across the State.


He assured people that a cleaner Ekiti State will be achieved in the coming weeks  as there are several strategies and mechanisms being put in place to improve the current unpleasant situation where refuse are arbitrarily dumped by residents.


The Waste Management boss who assured that more roll-up trucks will be provided by the  State government to fast track evacuation of wastes from the dino bins and replacement of evacuated ones added that regular and weekly house -to - house pick up of waste will be re-activated to discourage the habit of dumping refuse in the medians.


Mr Onipede said the Waste Management Authority was re-evaluating and restructuring the system in a bid to start up on a clean slate with special focus on human resources and equipment to be able to determine the quantum and type of waste being generated.


He urged Ekiti people to cooperate with the State government towards ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for all and sundry.
