Gov Zulum Signs N358.7 Billion 2024 Appropriation Bill

             
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has assented to the 2024 budget of 358.7 billion naira into law.

The budget size was increased by eighteen billion naira as passed by the State House of Assembly.

Governor Zulum at the event directed heads of agencies and members of the state executive council to strictly comply with the provisions of the appropriation bill while presenting their memos.

He commended the leadership and members of the Assembly for timely approval of the budget.

"We have to commend the leadership of the House of Assembly, we also have to commend the maturity of the house," Zulum said.

The Governor remarked that with the capital expenditure of over two hundred billion, the state will witness massive infrastructural development.

He expressed optimism that the budget will have significant impact on the citizenry. 

Speaker Borno State House of Assembly, Honourable Abdulkarim Lawan commended the governor for executing quality projects in the last five years.

He explained that the upward review of the appropriation bill was to capture some critical areas which have direct impact on lives of the people.

The revised capital expenditure now stands at over 208 billion while the recurrent expenditure is 150.4 billion naira.
