 Four people have died after a car was swept away at an overflowing bridge in the Makotopong River near Sebayeng. Police recovered the bodies after a blue Renault Kwid carrying five occupants was pulled into the river during heavy water flow on Sunday morning, 8 March 2026. One passenger escaped from the vehicle and alerted police and emergency services. Police say the car was travelling along the Madiga–Makotopong gravel road when it overturned at the flooded bridge and was dragged into the river. The Provincial Search and Rescue team recovered the first body on Sunday. The victim was identified as Lebapa Petrus Mochitele, 27, from Madiga Village. EMS personnel declared him dead at the scene. Search operations resumed on Monday with the SAPS Water Wing Unit, EMS Search and Rescue, the Fire and Rescue Department, and an EMS helicopter.  “I love you to the end of the world” – Late Alaafin’s wife, Queen Dami pens appreciation note to Portable.


Queen Dami, the late Alaafin of Oyo’s wife, has left people speechless with an appreciation message she wrote to Street Pop sensation Portable.


Queen Dami gently poured her heart out to Portable, whom she referred to as “her king,” as she wished him a happy New Year.


She also thanked the musician for teaching her the value of love and affection.


She expressed her love for Portable, saying she was grateful to God and considered herself fortunate to have him.


She wrote: “My king, Thank you for teaching me the meaning of love and affection and loving me unconditionally every day. I love you with all my heart and soul. I am thankful to God and to my lucky stars for having you as my Man. I love you to the end of the world❤️ see you in 2024 AMEN.”
