 PRESS RELEASE  FG TO PRIORITIZE  RESOURCE ALLOCATION IN THE FACE OF LOW OIL PRICES The Federal Government of Nigeria will pursue diversification of its revenues and adopt greater prudent resource allocation measures to mitigate the impact of low oil prices should it continue, according to Mr. Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy. Speaking at a meeting with investors during the ongoing IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington DC yesterday, Mr Wale Edun emphasized that with the recent reforms embarked upon by the present administration, Nigeria is better positioned to deal with global economic uncertainties.  Inferno Claims Family Of Seven In Kano


A late night fire, has led to the death of seven family members, while one sustained various degree of injuries at Tudun wada quarters, Nasarawa local government area, Kano.


 Executive Secretary, Kano state emergency management agency (SEMA),Alhaji Isiyaku Abdullahi Kubarachi confirmed the incident to Radio Nigeria in Kano.


According to him, the midnight  fire was triggered by electric fault, which led to the death of Malam Shu'aibu and his family.


He stressed that, the fire started from the living room, where the family moved to the inner room, and all efforts by neighbors to rescue them, proved abortive as they were suffocated by smoke.


Alhaji Isiyaku pointed out that, the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), had visited the scene, and had directed it's staff to compile a comprehensive  report, for onward submission to the state government for necessary action. 


The Executive Secretary, urged relatives of the deceased to consider the tragedy as the will of God and prayed for the repose of their souls. 


He charged residents to handle fire and electric appliances with care to avoid inferno.
