  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us. Kwara Governor Salutes Gallant Security Officers at Armed Forces Remembrance Day

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has urged Nigerians to unite and give their support to  members of the armed forces in their task of ensuring safety and security across the country.

Governor AbdulRazq made the call while speaking at an event to celebrate the 2024 Armed forces Remembrance Day in Ilorin.

He commended the effort of the 
fallen and serving men of the Armed Forces for their tremendous services to the nation.

AbdulRazq said the Armed Forces should be appreciated  for the sacrifices they have rendered .

He thanked the security agencies for their excellent roles in special operations in some parts of the state. 

The governor also appreciated their families for their tremendous roles and contribution to peace building.

He assured them of the commitment of his administration to support the families of the fallen heroes and those alive.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
