 Four people have died after a car was swept away at an overflowing bridge in the Makotopong River near Sebayeng. Police recovered the bodies after a blue Renault Kwid carrying five occupants was pulled into the river during heavy water flow on Sunday morning, 8 March 2026. One passenger escaped from the vehicle and alerted police and emergency services. Police say the car was travelling along the Madiga–Makotopong gravel road when it overturned at the flooded bridge and was dragged into the river. The Provincial Search and Rescue team recovered the first body on Sunday. The victim was identified as Lebapa Petrus Mochitele, 27, from Madiga Village. EMS personnel declared him dead at the scene. Search operations resumed on Monday with the SAPS Water Wing Unit, EMS Search and Rescue, the Fire and Rescue Department, and an EMS helicopter. Lagos pastor, Feyi Daniels, bags life imprisonment for r@ping church member.


An Ikeja court on Friday sentenced founder of iReign Christian Ministry, Feyi Daniels, to life imprisonment for “r@pin.g a church member”.


The trial judge, Rahman Oshodi, found the Lagos-based cleric guilty.


Delivering judgment in the case today January 26, the presiding judge, Justice Rahman Oshodi, said he believed the testimony of the complainant as well as other witnesses who gave direct evidence which weren’t contradicted at any point during the trial, despite the denials of the defendant.


In the words of the judge, the cleric used his dominant character and position to S£xua.l violate two members of his church.


“R@p.e carries a mandatory life imprisonment and s£xua.l assaul.t carries a jail term of three years, which can’t alleviate the harm on your victims.
