 “No electricity, no vote,” South Africans threaten to shun ruling party ANC Residents in Katlehong, a township outside Johannesburg, have resolved to boycott South Africa's upcoming local elections on November 4 due to long-standing failures by authorities to provide basic services like electricity. For over 20 years, around 180 households in the community have relied on illegal electrical connections pulled from neighboring areas to power their homes. Angry over the lack of formal grid infrastructure, residents are directing their frustration at the ruling African National Congress (ANC). "We have made a collective decision: no electricity, no vote," said community leader Lesiba Rankapole, 59. "We know it is illegal, but we had no choice because we cannot live without electricity. Lagos pastor, Feyi Daniels, bags life imprisonment for r@ping church member.


An Ikeja court on Friday sentenced founder of iReign Christian Ministry, Feyi Daniels, to life imprisonment for “r@pin.g a church member”.


The trial judge, Rahman Oshodi, found the Lagos-based cleric guilty.


Delivering judgment in the case today January 26, the presiding judge, Justice Rahman Oshodi, said he believed the testimony of the complainant as well as other witnesses who gave direct evidence which weren’t contradicted at any point during the trial, despite the denials of the defendant.


In the words of the judge, the cleric used his dominant character and position to S£xua.l violate two members of his church.


“R@p.e carries a mandatory life imprisonment and s£xua.l assaul.t carries a jail term of three years, which can’t alleviate the harm on your victims.
