 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. Lagos Residents Hand Over Imam, Four Others Caught With Human S^kull To Nigerian Police

Residents of Adamo area of Ikorodu, Lagos State have handed over a popular Chief Imam in the community identified only as Babalola and four of his men to the police after they were allegedly caught with a human skull and other parts of a human body.

A resident and eyewitness who confirmed this to SaharaReporters on Friday said that one of the Islamic clerics was caught with the human skull and he confessed that he was working for his principal, Imam Babalola.

The resident added that the suspects were detained by the anti-kidnapping and cultist Police Unit at Araro Adamo of Lagos State on Thursday.

“I have known the Imam for more than 5 years and this is a man the whole community is standing behind to pray, someone that most of us are looking up to,” the source told SaharaReporters.

“People caught of his men with the head and some human parts, he confessed that he was holding them for the Imam. This was when the people stormed the Imam house and arrested him together with four of his men,” the source added.

SaharaReporters had recently reported how the Ogun Police Command arrested a man, Kehinde Oladimeji, and his wife, Adejumoke Raji, over alleged possession of fresh human parts.

The suspects were arrested following a report lodged at Kemta Divisional Headquarters by one Chief Moshood Ogunwolu, the Baale of Leme community.

Ogunwolu had told the police that a certain Pastor Adisa Olarewaju, who is a co-tenant with the suspects, informed him that offensive odour was coming out of the suspects' room.
