 Carrick favourite for Man Utd caretaker role Michael Carrick has emerged as favourite to be appointed Manchester United caretaker head coach, according to sources close to the process. Club chiefs are hoping to have an appointment in place for when players return to training on Wednesday. While a final decision is yet to be reached, talks are said to have progressed with the 44-year-old over the position. Carrick previously had a three-game stint as United's temporary boss following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal in 2021. He won two and drew one of those matches but left after Ralf Rangnick's arrival as interim manager. Solskjaer held face-to-face discussions with the club on Saturday about a return. United sacked Ruben Amorim as manager after 14 months in the job on 5 January. Lagos Residents Hand Over Imam, Four Others Caught With Human S^kull To Nigerian Police

Residents of Adamo area of Ikorodu, Lagos State have handed over a popular Chief Imam in the community identified only as Babalola and four of his men to the police after they were allegedly caught with a human skull and other parts of a human body.

A resident and eyewitness who confirmed this to SaharaReporters on Friday said that one of the Islamic clerics was caught with the human skull and he confessed that he was working for his principal, Imam Babalola.

The resident added that the suspects were detained by the anti-kidnapping and cultist Police Unit at Araro Adamo of Lagos State on Thursday.

“I have known the Imam for more than 5 years and this is a man the whole community is standing behind to pray, someone that most of us are looking up to,” the source told SaharaReporters.

“People caught of his men with the head and some human parts, he confessed that he was holding them for the Imam. This was when the people stormed the Imam house and arrested him together with four of his men,” the source added.

SaharaReporters had recently reported how the Ogun Police Command arrested a man, Kehinde Oladimeji, and his wife, Adejumoke Raji, over alleged possession of fresh human parts.

The suspects were arrested following a report lodged at Kemta Divisional Headquarters by one Chief Moshood Ogunwolu, the Baale of Leme community.

Ogunwolu had told the police that a certain Pastor Adisa Olarewaju, who is a co-tenant with the suspects, informed him that offensive odour was coming out of the suspects' room.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity.
