 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. NCS GENERATES OVER 206 MILLION NAIRA LAST YEAR.


The Niger Kogi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service says it has generated over two hundred and six million naira from sixty five seizures last year.

Similarly the Command has generated over seventy seven million naira from demand on notices during the same period under review.

Customs Comptroller incharge of Niger Kogi Area Command Mr Busayo Kadejo stated this while addressing Newsmen in Minna the Niger state capital.

Mr Busayo Kadejo however explained that this feat was achieved through massive deployment of intelligence and the application of their rules of engagements.

According to him the Command made seizures ranging from 35 (25 litres) of petroleum motor spirit PMS from some undisclosed number of smugglers and some eight exotic cars with duty paod value of over one hundred and ninety five million naira.

Mr Busayo Kadejo also said the command has changed eight suspects to court for alleged smuggling.

The suspects were said to have brought into the country eight exotic cars through the Babana borders despite the ban on importation of goods through land borders.

The Customs Comptroller incharge of Niger Kogi Area Command who expressed delight that the command did not record any casualty last year however warned smugglers to desist or face the wrath of the law.
