 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment. Slain Nabeeha bagged first class at ABU – Uncle

Sherifdeen Al-Kadriyar, one of the uncles of late Nabeeha Al-Kadriyah, who was brutally murdered by bandits last Friday, said she graduated with a first class from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. 
He said she would have been awarded the honour at the school’s convocation slated for January 27.
He also said the release of Nabeeha’s remaining sisters late Saturday evoked bittersweet memories within the family.
He said: “You can imagine such a feeling if she had been alive to witness the convocation. However, the situation has further strengthened our faith in Almighty Allah.
“We thank all those that stood by us during this trying period.
“I was the one who went to claim the body of the late Nabeeha. She was brutally murdered and her sister, Najeeba, was forced to see her brutal corpse to traumatise her and others for us to quickly pay the ransom.’’
