 Hajj 2025: Ogun Govt Appoints Apelogun as Amirul Hajj, Announces Welfare Committee Members The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Board has announced the appointment of Prince Adebayo Apelogun, the National President of the Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners, Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), as the Amirul Hajj for the 2025 Hajj exercise. He will lead a 14-member ad-hoc welfare committee tasked with facilitating a smooth and successful pilgrimage to the Holy Land for the state’s contingent. Prince Apelogun, who also holds the revered titles of Asiwaju Adinni of Ogun State and Baba Adinni of Remo, will lead the committee, with Shaekh Ishaq Olorungbebe serving as chairman. TROOPS OF OPERATION HADARIN DAJI HAVE NEUTRALIZE 10 TERRORISTS RESCUE 9 KIDNAP VICTIMS IN KATSINA AND ZAMFARA STATES


The troops of the Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD) have neutralized 10 terrorists, rescued 9 kidnap victims and recovered arms and ammunition including operational motorcycle and communication gadgets.

The feat was recorded in recent dry season clearance operations commanded by the General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Godwin Mutkut.
 
Notably, on the 3rd January 2024, the combined troops of the OPHD conducted an offensive operation in identified Terrorist enclaves at Batsari and Safana LGAs of Katsina state, neutralizing 10 of the terrorists while others fled with gunshot wounds. 

The Troops also recovered 1 AK-47 Rifle, ammunition, 7 Dane guns, 3 locally fabricated guns, and other dangerous weapons as well as communication gadgets, mobile phones and military uniforms while 4 Motorcycles recovered and destroyed insitu.

Similarly, on the same day, troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI operating in Zamfara state, conducted a search and rescue operation at Dansadau and Dandalla villages in Maru LGA of Zamfara state. During the operation, 9 kidnapped victims were rescued which includes; 5 women and 4 babies. The victims were abandoned by the terrorists who fled after a gun duel with the resilient troops. The rescued victims were immediately reunited with their families at Magami.

The Commander Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI, Major General Godwin Mutkut, commended the efforts of the troops and urged them to maintain the tempo.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
