 “No electricity, no vote,” South Africans threaten to shun ruling party ANC Residents in Katlehong, a township outside Johannesburg, have resolved to boycott South Africa's upcoming local elections on November 4 due to long-standing failures by authorities to provide basic services like electricity. For over 20 years, around 180 households in the community have relied on illegal electrical connections pulled from neighboring areas to power their homes. Angry over the lack of formal grid infrastructure, residents are directing their frustration at the ruling African National Congress (ANC). "We have made a collective decision: no electricity, no vote," said community leader Lesiba Rankapole, 59. "We know it is illegal, but we had no choice because we cannot live without electricity. Woman gives birth in a McDonald's parking lot during snow storm, baby boy aptly nicknamed "little Mcflurry"

Analysia and Daniel Beck had already had their little scare for the day on January 11th when Analysia experienced Braxton Hicks contractions earlier in the day. It was hours later when the real thing caught them unaware.
After the earlier contractions, Analysia had went to sleep for awhile, only to awake in full blown labor with her water breaking as she woke up.

The 2 soon to be parents of a newborn jumped in their vehicle and headed to the hospital with snow flying. It was only moments after taking off, Analysia asked Daniel to pull over and call 911. 

The first responders barely made it in time, literally only showing up to catch the baby as he emerged to the world in a McDonald's parking lot. As the snow swirled into the backseat, the first responders lifted little Micah up for his parents to see him for the first time. Analysia immediately noticed how blue Micah looked. First responders explained his appearance was purely due to the cold.

Fortunately he was a perfectly healthy and happy little boy whom although named Micah has been lovingly refered to as their "little Mcflurry".
