 In a first for Indian Railways, an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) has been successfully tested inside a train coach.  The trial took place on Tuesday inside an air-conditioned coach of the Panchavati Express, which runs daily between Manmad in Nashik and Mumbai. This ATM facility is part of a joint effort by the Bhusawal division of Indian Railways and the Bank of Maharashtra. The ATM worked smoothly during the journey, with only minor interruptions when the train passed through the no-network zone between Igatpuri and Kasara, an area known for its tunnels. Despite the short signal losses, the ATM continued to function well and served its purpose. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video of the ATM on social media, calling it the first of its kind in India. This unique idea came from a meeting under the Innovative and Non-Fare Revenue Ideas Scheme (INFRIS) by the Bhusawal division.  AFCON: FG makes promise to Super Eagles


The Federal Government has promised to reward the Super Eagles for their commitment and dedication in reaching the final of the ongoing African Cup of the Nations  in Cote D’Ivoire.

Vice President Kashim Shettima made the promise on behalf of the Federal Government when met with the Super Eagles following their win over the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

The Super Eagles made this known  this in a statement shared on their official X handle early Thursday.

” “The Federal Government has promised to reward the Super Eagles for their commitment and dedication in reaching the final of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivore.

“Vice President Kashim Shettima told the players and their officials in the dressing room, following their hard-fought victory over South Africa in the semi finals on Wednesday, that the government and people of Nigeria are proud of their accomplishment.

“The VP was in company with Governors Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) and Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), Minister for Youths, Dr. Jamila Ibrahim as well as oil mogul, Wale Tinubu, FIFA Council member, Amaju Pinnick, and NFF President, Ibrahim Musa Gusau,” the statement said.

The Super Eagles qualified for  the  AFCON final on Wednesday after beating the Bafana Bafana  of South Africa 4-2 on penalties.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
