 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity.  Anambra billionaire’s death throws community into confusion


The death of Chief Osondu Nwoye, the Umueze, Amanuke billionaire, in Awka North local government of Anambra state, has thrown the area in confusion 

While some believe he is still alive, others have started counting the losses from his demise. 

Nwoye, according to his kinsmen, was à philanthropist of high repute not only in the sleepy Amanuke community but in the entire Awka North council area. 

The 53-year-old business man, who resides in Ivory Coast, was said to have died during the Nigeria /South Africa match. 

His friend and kinsman, Chief Chikodi Anarah, who is Anambra Commissioner for Home Affairs, told The Nation that it was difficult to believe his death. 

À musician from Amanuke, Chibuzor Okafor (aka ‘onyeoma)  told The Nation that the entire community was in pains, adding “à heavy rain has fallen in Amanuke.”

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
