 Press Release: Every Hisbah Officer Is a Peace and Security Ambassador in His Community. Kano State Governor Alh.Abba Kabir Yusuf has reaffirmed the determination of his administration to ensure security and peace  for the protection of lives and property across the state. The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Sani Auwal, made the commitment during a stakeholders meeting on the contribution of shari'a sector institutions toward promoting peace and security in Kano State. The meeting was organized by the Kano State Hisbah Board and held at the Coronation hall Government House, Kano. He emphasized that security is a collective responsibility and urged the Hisbah Board to focus more on providing intelligence reports to conventional security agencies, rather than limiting efforts to moral enforcement alone.  Borno State: 100,000 Families To Benefit From Food Palliatives


The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has approved the distribution of food palliatives to over 100,000 vulnerable families to cushion the impact food inflation. 


Governor Zulum gave the approval during a meeting with traditional rulers, elders, community leaders and other stakeholders at Government House,  Maiduguri .


According to him, the beneficiaries would be selected from the twenty seven wards of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) and Jere Local Government Area.


Zulum reiterated his administration's commitment to ensuring the welfare of Borno citizens, particularly to families struggling to access basic necessities of life, in the face of rising food prices and economic challenges.


                         “I have approved the distribution of palliative to 100,000 families in MMC and Jere Local Government Area to ease the hardship faced by our people in the wake of the rising cost of food and other essential goods,” Zulum said.


He announced that the distribution would commence in the coming days with Shehuri North, South, Feezan, Hausari, Gamboru and Mafoni wards.


Zulum assured that the distribution will be conducted in a transparent and accountable manner to ensure that the assistance reaches the targeted people. 


Similarly, Governor Babagana Zulum has also directed the distribution of the food palliative in seven Local Government Areas in the southern part of the state.


The local governments are Biu, Hawul, Shani, Kwaya Kusar, Askira-Uba, Chibok and Bayo.


He noted that his administration has consistently been distributing cash and food items in areas affected by Boko Haram insurgency to enhance their livelihood and ward-off vulnerable residents from joining the ranks of insurgents.
