 Alleged Defilement: Ogun Drops Charges Against School Proprietor, Cites Lack of Evidence …decries social media incitement against the accused, govt The Ogun State Government has decided not to press charges against the proprietor of Perfect Life School, Igode-Remo, Mr. Ashafa Samson Adelaja, over allegations of defilement. According to the state Ministry of Justice, following its findings after a thorough investigation of the allegations against Adelaja, the State Government, on Thursday, informed the Chief Magistrate sitting in the Sagamu Magisterial District that it would not be bringing any charges against him. Accordingly, Mr. Ashafa was unconditionally released from prison custody, according to a statement issued by the ministry.  EFCC Arrests 36 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abeokuta


Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested thirty-six (36) suspected internet fraudsters in Ogun State.


They were arrested on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Gbokoniyin and Yetedo areas of Abeokuta in Ogun State, following actionable intelligence gathered and worked upon by the Commission.


Items recovered from them include nine exotic vehicles, fourteen (14) laptops, forty-nine (49) mobile phones and other incriminating documents.


The suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
