 Tragedy in Lagos: Two Dead After Machete-Wielding Attacker Storms Lekki IMAX Cinema A horrific incident unfolded at the Filmhouse IMAX Cinema in the upscale Lekki area of Lagos State on Friday night, August 29, leaving two people dead following a violent confrontation with an armed intruder. Violent Confrontation at Cinema Entrance According to eyewitness accounts, a man armed with a machete and a knife attempted to force his way into the cinema premises. Onlookers reported that the assailant appeared to be highly intoxicated or under the influence of substances. When vigilant security personnel stationed at the entrance intercepted him to prevent entry, a violent scuffle ensued. Fatal Stabbing and Subsequent Mob Action The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, SP Adebisi Abimbola, confirmed the tragic details of the encounter.  EFCC Arrests 40 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abuja,  Keffi

 

Operatives of the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, have arrested 40 suspected internet fraudsters.

 

They were arrested on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Mpape in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja and Keffi, Nasarawa State.

 

The suspects, comprising 38 male and two female, were arrested following credible information on their suspected involvement in internet-related offences. 

 

Items recovered from them include two cars, 56 phones, four smart watches, eight power banks and four laptops.

 

They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
