PDP court hearing over pro-Wike faction suit adjourned to Jan 14 The Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday adjourned the hearing of a suit by the pro-Wike faction of the PDP challenging the Ibadan National Convention until January 14, 2026. The adjournment followed a motion by the opposing faction, led by Kabiru Turaki, seeking the recusal of Justice Joyce Abdulmalik over alleged bias. The court held the motion was not yet ripe for hearing, as some parties had not been served. The suit involves disputes over party leadership recognition, access to PDP headquarters, and INEC’s acknowledgment of party representatives. A related counter-suit by the Turaki-led faction was also adjourned to January 16.

Dr. Obidike thanked the doctors managing the child for their professionalism in handling the patient who sustained serious injuries after the barbaric act from her madam.

The Commissioner said, "the State Government and the wife of the Governor, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo through her Non-Governmental Organization, Healthy Living are collaborating with his ministry to ensure her treatment.

``The first day I saw this poor child, I felt so bad that a human being can actually inflict such injuries to her fellow beings and it is really disheartening to be honest with you.

``So, the orthopedic surgeon, trauma surgeon with other physicians are doing their best so as to ensure her quick recovery and for us, we will make sure that the child continues to receive the best possible care and I will continue to monitor her.

``Please, this should not even be done to an animal talk more of a human; the governor is making a sincere effort to build a society of law and order.

``Because you have a child doesn’t give you the right to treat the child the way you want and I strongly believe the law will take its course on this ugly issue".
