NEMA UPGRADES ITS NORTH CENTRAL ZONAL OFFICE TO A DIRECTORATE.

The North Central Zonal Office of the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA has been upgraded to a directorate to enable the Agency speedily respond to cases of emergencies and disasters without any hitch.

It is also with a view to reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks and promote the principle of separation of powers as well as to reduce burden in the office of Chief Executive of the Agency in Abuja for administrative convenience.

Director North Central Zone Mr Bashir Idris Garga stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria after visiting the Niger state Governor Mohammed Umar Bago in Minna.

Mr Bashir Idris explained that henceforth whenever there is any emergency case instead of the Head of Operations waiting for approval from Abuja the Director North Central can give that approval to immediately attend to people in distress to ameliorate their hardship.

He however assured Nigerlites that officials of NEMA will never rest on their oars  at ensuring that people in distress are given the needed attention and support.

On funding, the NEMA Director North Central Mr Bashir Idris said they will collaborate with the Niger state government and relevant stakeholders to ensure that the problem is nipped in the bud to achieve maximum results.

Niger state Governor Mohammed Umar Bago had earlier assured officials of the National Emergency Management Agency of his administration readiness to support the Agency to succeed in it's assignment.
