Family and neighbors mourn woman shot by ICE agent after making Minneapolis her home  Before she was fatally shot by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer, 37-year-old Renee Good had just dropped her youngest child off at an elementary school in Minneapolis, the city she and her family had recently begun to call home. As Trump administration officials continued Thursday to describe Good as a domestic terrorist who tried to ram federal agents with her Honda Pilot, those who knew her remembered someone very different: a gentle, kind, and openhearted mother, wife, and neighbor. Good, her wife and her 6-year-old son had recently moved from Kansas City, Missouri, to a quiet Minneapolis neighborhood lined with older homes and small apartment buildings.  Pennsylvania mom convicted after strangling her 11-year-old son to keep him from "experiencing financial difficulties"...

In April of 2023, Matthew Whitehead's father called 911 to his Horsham, Pennsylvania home after he discovered the master bedroom door was locked where Matthew had fallen asleep with his mother. He also reported to police the family's Toyota Highlander was missing.

When officers arrived on scene and gained entry to the room they found 11-year-old Matthew sadly deceased.

The medical examiner found ligature marks on the front and rear of his neck. Matthew's face was also swollen and he had petechiae around his eyes. Matthew had been strangled by a belt while he was sleeping.

Ruth DiRienzo-Whitehead, Matthew's mom, was arrested soon after.  Police had found her SUV had been driven into the ocean in Cape May, New Jersey.  Police recovered the belt Ruth used to strangle her son in the rear of the vehicle. DiRienzo-Whitehead was found walking 6 miles from the SUV and arrested. In interviews with police, she claimed she had killed her son because the family was, "struggling financially and she didn't want him to grow up like that."

Ruth DiRienzo- Whitehead was convicted of the first-degree murder of her son Matthew on Thursday February 15th. The judge completely rejected the insanity defense her attorney put forward. We will update when her sentence is handed down.
