 BREAKING NEWS ANAMBRA POLICE RECORD FURTHER BREAKTHROUGH IN OGIDI, RECOVER MORE ARMS In continuation of an earlier operation by Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, which led to the arrest of three suspects and recovery of arms in Ogidi on 21st March 2026, the Anambra State Police Command has recorded further breakthrough following sustained investigation and interrogation. The Operatives made additional progress with the arrest of the suspected ringleader of the syndicate, one Chukwuka Anene ‘M’, aged 46 years, who confessed to being the armourer of the gang. The suspect subsequently led Police operatives to the gang’s hideout in Ogidi, where the following items were recovered: two pump-action guns, two locally made Beretta pistols, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven live cartridges, a beret linked to a cult group, and body armour.  Special forces capture suspected kidnapper after gun battle in Ekiti State


The rapid deployment of special forces has led to the arrest of a suspected kidnapper along the Ikere-Igbara Odo Ekiti axis.

The operation, based on intelligence, culminated in a gun duel with the suspected kidnappers, leading to the capture of Salisu Dangani.

Addressing the newsmen at the scene of the arrest, Brigadier General Ebenezer Ogundana (retd), Special Adviser to the Ekiti State Governor on Security Matters, stated that the suspect has been detained for further profiling.

Items confiscated from the suspect include a mobile phone, fabricated gun, torchlight, dagger, and substances suspected to be charms.

The swift and decisive action of the special forces demonstrated the state’s determination to tackle security threats effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
