 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Sule Lamido Donates Multi Billion House To Jigawa University


Former Jigawa State Governor, Dr Sule Lamido has donated his country house to the Jigawa State government.


This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by Lamido’s media aide, Mansur Ahmed, in Dutse.


The edifice located at Bamaina village in Birnin kudu local government area of the state would be utilised as Institute for Islamic Studies and Research under the Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa.


Dr Sule Lamido said that he built the house with the hope of donating it for a cause after his demise.


He also promised to upgrade the house and construct additional structures befitting of a research centre.


“He dedicated the house as a way of giving back to the people, who trusted him and gave him the mandate to develop the state,” the statement says.


In his remarks, the Jigawa state secretary to the state government, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim commended the gesture, and described Sule Lamido as patriotic citizen who has passion for the development of the state and the country at large.
