 Malian army withdraws from key Tessalit military camp: sources Mali’s army and its Russian mercenary allies have surrendered Camp Tessalit, a strategic military post in the north, multiple sources told the AFP news agency on Friday. An official from the Tuareg-led separatist group claimed soldiers and mercenaries at the camp had "surrendered", following a fierce fight over the weekend. Simultaneous attacks in Mali by militants linked to Al Qaeda and separatist Tuareg rebels on April 25 showed how fighters ​from different groups with different goals were able to strike at the heart of the West African country's military government. Gunfire and explosions were reported in the capital Bamako and around a large military base outside the capital, as well as Gao and central areas, as gunfire continuing in the northern city of Kidal. TENSION AS BIKE MAN KILLS ONE IN OGBA.(PHOTO).


There is tension in Oluwole Ogba and Aguda axis after an unidentified Hausa bike man popularly known as Okada ride allegedly stabbed one person to death.

It is unclear what led to the incident but it was gathered that the unfortunate incident occurred on Thursday night.

According to eyewitnesses, the conflict escalated when some Oluwole boys stormed Oke Ira area in Ogba in search of the Okada riders, who are mostly northerners.

However, police officers from the ‘Area G’ command in conjunction Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have beefed up the areas to curb any clash between Hausa Okada riders and Yoruba residents in Ogba.

P.M.News correspondent who visited the areas noticed how Hausa Okada riders are fleeing for their lives in and around Ogba to avoid been lynched by the mob or escape from police arrest.

Our correspondent also visited the ‘Area G’ command but was not allowed in or given any update on the situation on ground.

Roads leading to Excellence Roundabout, Ogba Market and WAEC have been blocked with vans of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) unit of the police.
