By Chukwudi Nwauba

The Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike has applauded the Nnobi General Hospital Health workers for commitment and dedication in the hospital.

The commendation was made at the Nnobi General hospital, Idemili South Local Government Area during the unscheduled visit by the commissioner.

Dr. Obidike explained that his unannounced visit was to monitor the activities of health workers working in government facilities.

``This hospital was deserted when we came into power but with the help of Mr. Governor whose passion in healthcare of the state instructed that we must make it functional and affordable to our people.

``We must appreciate the community’s effort and our special appreciation goes to the President of Nnobi Hospital Restoration Committee based in the United States of America, Prof. Ferdinand Ofordile and his team for their sincere effort in gathering the resources used in changing the face of the hospital.

``All of us know that building does not make a hospital, that’s why on our own as government, we deployed all the health personnel needed to make things work in the hospital as regards service delivery to the people.’’

He expressed joy that Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment in the health sector of the state is already yielding positive results.

``Ours is to commend committed and dedicated health workers, as well as reprimand those that failed to do their job and soon those of them that perform well will be rewarded accordingly.

``We have taken notes of their challenges and it will be addressed quickly so that people will continue to receive quality care services."

The commissioner, then,  urged other health workers to emulate the leadership style of the Nnobi General Hospital, Chief Medical Director, Dr. Caleb Madunaeme, Dr. George Okeke, Matron, Mrs. Chinelo Uzuagu and others who were at their duty post during the visit.
