 PDP, Ighodalo’s appeal will crash, Okpebholo assures Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo (middle, backing the camera), while addressing the tumultuous crowd of supporters at his victory rally in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area in Edo Central Senatorial District of the state. Edo Governor Monday Okpebholo has declared the appeal by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, would crash at the Court of Appeal. Okpebholo spoke at Okaijesan Town Hall, Irrua, venue of the celebration of his Wednesday’s victory at the election petitions tribunal in Abuja, which Ighodalo and PDP vowed to appeal with the well-attended and colourful rally hosted by Edo Central senatorial district’s leaders.  “Why will I carry a child for nine months and someone else gets to name it” – Lady insists mothers should name babies


A young Nigerian lady argues the decision of a man or other family members deciding the names of babies other than mothers who carried the child for nine months.


In a video making the rounds on social media, a lady insisted on how inappropriate it is for relatives to have a voice on a newborn baby’s name.


Addressing the father of the child’s take on naming the baby, she added that it should be in agreement with the baby’s mother.


“I feel mothers should be the ones naming the child, even if the dad will name the child, it should be in agreement with the woman,” she captioned the video.


The post has since generated a wave of reactions from social media users who mostly disagreed with the lady, particularly the male users.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
