 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. RCCG City of David parish excluded as family releases 6-day burial rites for Wigwe, wife, son


The family of the late Herbert Wigwe, the former group chief executive officer (GCEO) of Access Holdings Plc, has announced arrangements for his burial rites.

WIGWE'S FAMILY ANNOUNCES  FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS. 


The burial rites for Herbert Wigwe, his wife, and his son have been announced by the family.


A funeral ceremony for Wigwe, his wife, and his son is scheduled to commence on Monday, March 4, 2024.


They lost their lives in a helicopter accident in the United States a few weeks ago.


The former Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, was also aboard the aircraft and among those killed in the incident.

The City of David parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God where the late Wigwes worshipped was conspicuously excluded from the burial programme after the senior pastor’s wife, Siju Iluyomade, held a talk of the town birthday party days after his demise. Many Nigerians have  argued that the cleric’s wife who was like a spiritual mother to the Wigwes should have postponed her birthday party due to the unfortunate incident.
