 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police.  2 Years In Office : Soludo Messiah To Ndi Anambra, His 2nd Tenure Undisputable - Market Chairman

As Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State celebrated his two years in office on March 17, the Chairman, Old Motor Spare Parts, Mgbuka Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Mr Samuel Ifurunwa, has described him as a messiah who has come to rescue his people from both insecurity and economic quagmire bedeviling the state.


The market boss said that the governor's second tenure bid is undisputable going by his array of achievements that include, doing about 240km of roads, employment of 8000 teachers, 1000 medical personnel, employment opportunity of 1 youth 2 skills initiative, sack of touts, and free treatment of pregnant women.


"Gov. Soludo is a Messiah to our state, he is going round the state performing wonders, making judicious use of the state fund without borrowing. This is who was left without money when he assumed office.


"His aim to transform the state into a liveable and prosperous smart mega city, a place to live, invest, learn, work, relax and enjoy has made him and his team to have significantly created a positive impact on Ndi Anambra in just two years.


"He is an embodiment of God's blessing and exceptionally dedicated administrator who is committed to the unity, stability and development of the state," the market boss said.


He also commended him for his relentless effort in the restoration of lost glory of Onitsha and its environs, urging him not to relent in his good work.


Ifurunwa, assured him of the support and prayers of Ndi Anambra on him and his family so that God who brought him to us will forever be with him as he takes the state to the next level.
