 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  2027 is about Peter Obi, not LP – Kenneth Okonkwo


Nollywood actor and former spokesperson of the Labour Party presidential campaign council, Kenneth Okonkwo has said the crisis rocking the party would not affect Peter Obi if he decides to run for the presidency again in 2027.

He explained that politics is about the candidate and not the political party.

Speaking in a recent interview with Arise TV, Okonkwo said Peter Obi represents “a new Nigeria” regardless of any political platform he is contesting on.

He said, “2027 is about Peter Obi, not about Labour Party. Anybody who is bringing Peter Obi on the table, is bringing the new Nigeria, a new third force, absolute victory.

“When you come to elections, you take about candidates, not political parties. Peter Obi electrified Labour Party. He has no business to lose sleep over whatever is happening in any political party. How many months did he joined Labour Party? And he made what he made. People are loyal to his person. The new Nigeria is loyal to his people.”

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
