Detectives of the Imo State Police Command through painstaking and diligent investigations have arrested three suspects identified as Joseph Onyema, āmā, 35 yrs, Uzoma Nwanoreze, āmā, 30yrs, and Eberechukwu Nwosu āmā age 43yrs, for allegedly dā¬filing a 12-year-old girl (name withheld).
Investigation by the police revealed that the suspects had unlawful c@rnal knowledge of the minor on different occasions which made her develop serious virginal injuries as well as a sĀ£xually transmitted disease.
The victim is currently receiving intense medical care at the hospital. The suspects will have their day in court upon completion of a discreet investigation.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Okoye Henry said the state Commissioner of Police Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma while condemning the barbaric acts in totality, calls on the well-meaning resident of Imo State to support the Police in the onslaught against defilement, rape, and other sexual related crimes in the State. He affirmed that such societal menace is utterly condemnable and perpetrators will be made to face the wrath of the law.
