 CURBING OPEN DEFECATION: LASG, WATERAID, PRIVATE SECTOR COLLABORATE TO BUILD 350 PUBLIC TOILETS IN LAGOS  The Lagos State Government, in collaboration with WaterAid Plan and private operators, is set to build 350 more public toilets across the state to curb widespread open defecation and maintain hygiene and sanitation.  This is just as the State WaterAid team lead gave a projection that by 2028, the organisation will reach 10 million residents directly and another 17 million indirectly through interventions with basic Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) access. Speaking at a roundtable over the weekend, the Special Adviser on Environment, Engr. Olakunle Rotimi-Akodu said work has started on some of the toilets including identifying the locations for them. A 12 YEAR OLD GIRL WAS RAPED BY THREE MEN REPEATEDLY IN IMO STATE. (PHOTO).

 12 year old girl suffers vaginal injuries and contracted STD after being repeatedly r@ped by three men in Imo


Detectives of the Imo State Police Command through painstaking and diligent investigations have arrested three suspects identified as Joseph Onyema, ’m’, 35 yrs, Uzoma Nwanoreze, ‘m’, 30yrs, and Eberechukwu Nwosu ‘m’ age 43yrs, for allegedly d€filing a 12-year-old girl (name withheld). 


Investigation by the police revealed that the suspects had unlawful c@rnal knowledge of the minor on different occasions which made her develop serious virginal injuries as well as a s£xually transmitted disease. 


The victim is currently receiving intense medical care at the hospital. The suspects will have their day in court upon completion of a discreet investigation.


Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Okoye Henry said the state Commissioner of Police Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma while condemning the barbaric acts in totality, calls on the well-meaning resident of Imo State to support the Police in the onslaught against defilement, rape, and other sexual related crimes in the State. He affirmed that such societal menace is utterly condemnable and perpetrators will be made to face the wrath of the law.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
