 El-Rufai’s Eye Condition Worsening In ICPC Custody, Aide Alleges The media aide to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Muyiwa Adekeye, has expressed concern over what he described as the worsening eye condition of his principal while in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). Adekeye also accused the anti-corruption agency of failing to provide El-Rufai with adequate medical care despite repeated complaints about his health. In a statement issued on Friday, Adekeye said the former governor had reported symptoms including swollen, red, and itchy eyes while in detention and had requested medical attention. According to him, family members who visited El-Rufai noticed the condition and alerted ICPC officials, urging them to allow him access to medical treatment.  Anambra State Government distributes 2000 laptop computers to teachers in Public Schools, Public-Mission Schools

Anambra State Government has distributed 2,000 laptop computers to Head Teachers and Principals in Public schools and Public-mission schools in the state.


The Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo who performed the distribution exercise at the International Conference Centre, Awka said that the role of teachers in the society is important in moulding the future of young ones and students of the state.


The governor who said that the state is doing well within Nigeria emphasized the need for its schools to strive to be compared with schools in countries of the World where education is at its peak.


``This administration places much priority in education, and that is why more resources and infrastructure are being channelled into the education sector.


"This is also done with the aim to produce smart school children and smart schools for the state.’’


Gov. Soludo stressed on the need for qualitative teaching and learning while assuring that his government would continue to ensure that teachers go through basic trainings that would make them competitive at home and be exportable abroad.


The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh while commending the state government extolled the giant strides of Gov. Soludo saying that he has achieved a lot in the education sector and human capital development which according to her include the recruitment of 5000 qualified teachers on merit and the engagement of additional 3000 teachers.


``Thank you Mr. Governor for making education totally free of all levies in the state; such initiative has constituted to the migration of school children from neighbouring states to Anambra State to school.
