  Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has paid an unscheduled visit to the site of a devastating fire incident that occurred at No. 73 Lagos Street, Off Ngwa road Aba, where a two-storey building was engulfed in flames, destroying properties worth millions of Naira. Governor Otti expressed his sympathy for the victims and described the incident as "unfortunate." He assured them that the government would provide support to reduce the impact of their loss and help them secure alternative accommodation. The governor also thanked God that no lives were lost in the inferno. The governor directed his Senior Special Assistant on Homeland Security to conduct an investigation into the cause of the fire. He emphasized the importance of having fire extinguishers in every household and ordered the enforcement of this measure.  Criticisms as Mr Ibu’s adopted daughter, Jasmine renames actor’s Tiktok account


Barely 24 hours after the passing of veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, his adopted daughter, Jasmine, has changed his personal Tiktok account of over 1 million followers to her own name.


A check on the late actor’s Tiktok page on Sunday revealed that the account has now been renamed to #LadyJasminec_live.


Jasmine also appeared to have deleted all the late actor’s videos except the ones featuring her.


The development has sparked uproar on social media, with fans of the late actor berating Jasmine of “tampering” with his legacy.


Recall that the actor passed away on Saturday night, weeks after returning from hospital following successful surgeries that led to amputation of one of his legs.


The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Dr Emeka Rollas, who confirmed his death, said he died of cardiac arrest.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
