 SPORTS INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT: LAGOS UNVEILS ZEN ARCHERY ARENA As part of  Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's commitment to promoting inclusion, the Lagos State Sports Commission, in collaboration with Zen Archery recently unveiled the Lagos Zen Archery Arena at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere. Speaking at the unveiling, the Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, said the Lagos Zen Archery Arena is a testament to the present administration’s commitment to advancing, supporting, and promoting mass participation in sports. He said "This facility provides opportunities for different categories of archers to have a befitting space to practice and develop their talents in archery. This attests to possibilities in sports development and to give diversity and inclusivity in sports not just in Lagos but in Nigeria at large".  How I was sexually abused at just 11 by school matron, Diana's brother EARL SPENCER reveals in devastating memoir as he says trauma left life-long toll


Princess Diana's brother Earl Spencer has revealed that he was sexually abused at the age of 11 by a female member of staff at his boarding school.


In an extract from his powerful memoir published exclusively in The Mail on Sunday, Earl Spencer describes in devastating detail the sexual assaults and horrific beatings he suffered at Maidwell Hall and the lifelong damage they caused.


The 59-year-old reveals how a predatory assistant matron -- whom he describes as a 'voracious paedophile' – preyed on him and other young boys, grooming and then abusing them in their dormitory beds at night.


The book also details how John Porch, the 'terrifying and sadistic' headteacher of the exclusive prep school, inflicted brutal beatings, seemingly gaining sexual pleasure from the violence.


The torment Earl Spencer endured during his five years at Maidwell Hall led to him deliberately making himself sick -- a shocking precursor to Diana's later struggles with bulimia.


And he believes the emotional damage wrought by his time at the school in Northamptonshire had an effect on his first two marriages.


The peer, who attended Maidwell between the ages of eight and 13, said he hopes his unflinching account will shine a light on 'how things too often were' in English private schools in the 1970s and bring 'closure' to fellow pupils who were abused.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
