 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS MINISTER OF STATE FOR PETROLEUM RESOURCES (GAS) AS CO-CHAIRMAN OF NCDMB GOVERNING COUNCIL In line with his avowed commitment to establish a more efficient, targeted, and consistent approval process for unique oil and gas projects in the country, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), as the Co-Chairman of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB). This is also to further ensure effective oversight of the gas aspect of the nation's assets. The President remains committed to unlocking Nigeria's immense gas potential to stimulate industrial development, job creation, and sustainable economic growth.  First Lady Tinubu donates 100,000 exercise books to Lagos public schools


Wife of the President Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu has donated 100,000 exercise books to pupils of public primary and junior secondary schools in Lagos state as part of her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Education Support Programme.

The books were presented by the wife of the governor, Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, on behalf of the First Lady.

She said: “This gesture is well appreciated and will further support our students in their academic pursuit, enhancing learning outcomes. These books will be distributed to public primary and junior secondary school students through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), ensuring they reach those who need them most.

“Therefore, I encourage our younger generation you can become whatever they desire to be in life. Whatever you can conceive, you can achieve provided you are truly determined to pay the price. I implore you to have the right attitude, in all you do, and strive to reflect nothing but excellence in academics and your day-to-day affairs.

“The Renewed Hope Initiative is driven by the Office of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to complement efforts of the administration of President Bola Tinubu. Its scope spans across education, health, economic empowerment, social investment, and agriculture.”

Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education Jamiu Alli-Balogun said the gesture will enable beneficiaries get learn properly.

He added: “This initiative portrays the passion and love Her Excellency is noted for since her days as the First Lady of Lagos State. The Renewed Hope Education Program is set to positively affect the learning process with this gesture to pupils in our public schools. It will go a long way to support the pupils in receiving adequate learning with the required tools. It will also be a classroom support for teachers who will ensure the learning process is complete and impactful.”

Representative of the RHI in Lagos, Wahab Alawiye-King, said the RHI is determined to support education as a tool to develop the country.

“This donation is part of our determination and commitment to support basic and essential learning of our pupils. The best is yet to come, we should be ready to embrace prosperity in our nation very soon,” he added.

Chairman of LASUBEB Hakeem Shittu said the gesture will ‘empower our pupils and their parents to scale the barriers to accessing quality education due to the unavailability of learning materials’.

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
