 CURBING OPEN DEFECATION: LASG, WATERAID, PRIVATE SECTOR COLLABORATE TO BUILD 350 PUBLIC TOILETS IN LAGOS  The Lagos State Government, in collaboration with WaterAid Plan and private operators, is set to build 350 more public toilets across the state to curb widespread open defecation and maintain hygiene and sanitation.  This is just as the State WaterAid team lead gave a projection that by 2028, the organisation will reach 10 million residents directly and another 17 million indirectly through interventions with basic Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) access. Speaking at a roundtable over the weekend, the Special Adviser on Environment, Engr. Olakunle Rotimi-Akodu said work has started on some of the toilets including identifying the locations for them. Popular skit maker, Maryam Apaokagi, also known as Taaooma, has revealed how enjoyable it was to have featured Canadian – American, King Bach and actor Terry Crews in her comedy skits adding that she has been grinding in the industry about a decade ago.

In an interview with content creator, Egungun of Lagos, Taaooma who is well known for her versatility in performing different parts in her skits expressed delight having worked with Terry and Bach on her recent comedy videos. 

Expressing eagerness to film with more renowned persons, she promised to feature more international celebrities. 

Speaking on the challenging part of her job, Taaooma said that dressing for each character she wanted to represent was one of the difficulties she had while playing her several parts. 

The comedian claimed to have ten years of experience in the comedy industry, adding that she shoots and edits her videos herself.

In her words: “ it’s already 10 years now. I shoot and edit my videos myself. It was very nice experience to shoot videos with Terry Crews and King Bach. I love it and I look forward for more. I’m looking on to shoot with a lot of people as it comes but I don’t want to start mentioning names”

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
