 Anambra :Otu Odu Society Is To Value Culture, Reach Out To People Says Iyom Ugodiche  By Juliana Nwachukwu  Mrs Ijeoma Obiegbunam, wife of a business magnate, Oba Ifeanyi Obiegbunam, who was conferred with a Chieftaincy title of Iyom Ugodiche on April 20, said that Otu Odu Society is to value culture and reach out to people. Mrs Obiegbunam who said this to Newsmen after her conferment by the Otu Odu Society of Agukwu Nri, Anaocha Local Government Area, Anambra State, said that it involved lots of things including finances. According to her, It is not just a society meant for every woman but women of honour who stand by the truth and display humility. Two things are necessary in this Otu Odu society, one is to value culture, that is to uphold the culture of the Igbo race and the second one is to reach out to people.  Iyanya narrates how a social media troll inspired the title of his new album


Nigerian music star Iyanya made a comeback in 2022 with his hit single 'Like' featuring Afrobeats heavyweights Davido and Kizz Daniel.


In an interview, Iyanya talked about his latest album 'Once Upon A Cat' on which he features a crop of emerging artists.


When asked about the motivation behind the album title and his decision to collaborate with emerging artists, Iyanya said that the album title was inspired by the comment of a social media troll.


Readers will recall that last year, social media was agog after Davido classified Burna Boy as a new cat (new crop of Afrobeats superstars) along with Rema, and Asake.


The statement polarised fans who attempted to classify who passes as a new cat and an old one. Amidst the conversation, one social media user asked where would Iyanya be classified and another user replied "that one is once upon a cat" in pidgin.


Iyanya revealed that he and his team had been brainstorming on the right name for the album and the comment of the troll was instantly selected as the right album title.


On the album, Iyanya featured a crop of emerging artists like Moonlight Afriqa, Tee Dollar, Qing Madi, M3lon, Pawwz, and Young Duu among others. The singer revealed that the decision to feature these talents was motivated by the desire to spotlight them.


Iyanya also shared that he intends to make a remix of his classic hit songs and make them into an album.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
