 Rape Suspect Escapes from Police Custody in Rivers State A male suspect, identified simply as Goodnews, who allegedly defiled a 16-year-old girl in the Rupokwu community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, last week, has escaped from police custody. The case was being investigated by the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Port Harcourt. It was gathered that the suspect escaped when the scene of the crime was visited as part of the investigation procedures. The suspect was earlier arrested by operatives of the Special Area Rumudomaya and transferred to the State CID, Port Harcourt, last week. According to the father of the alleged defilement victim, Mr. Prince, when they arrived at the scene of the crime, which is their compound, the suspect, who was not handcuffed by the Investigating Police Officer, was having difficulty opening the padlock on his door.  Mohbad’s Wife Serves Father-In-Law Pre-Action Notice Over Alleged Defamation, Libelous Publications; Demands Apology


The pre-action notice demands an apology from Joseph Aloba for defamation, offensive and libellous social media and newspaper posts and publications against her.


“Having said that, we hereby demand for a public apology to be published on all your social media profiles within seven days of the receipt or delivery of this letter.”

The letter said, “If, however, you fail, refuse or neglect to hearken to this subtle demand, we will be left with no choice than to commence legal proceedings against you to assert our client's rights and claim 50 million naira damages in that respect.

“This letter serves as a pre-action notice to you in respect of the matter in question and you are advised, in your own interest, to allow wise counsel to prevail.”
