 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

PASTOR ARRESTED FOR ABDUCTING MEMBER'S TEENAGE DAUGHTER, RAPING HER AND GETTING HER PREGNANT. (PHOTO).

 Pastor arrested for abducting member’s teenage daughter, r@ping her and getting her pregnant


Men of the Ogun state police command have arrested a Cherubim and Seraphim pastor, Adeleye Dada Dollar, for r@ping the daughter of a member of his church, Adekunle Kabirat, for several years and getting her pregnant.


The mother of the victim, Joke Adekunle, who spoke to newsmen, said Kabira went missing since January 8 this year after she scolded her for a wrongdoing. Joke said on the day she went missing, Kabira misbehaved and after scolding her, she told her to stay at home and not follow her to the shop for that day as a way of punishing her. The mum said she returned home in the evening to see that Kabira had removed her school books from her bag and used same bag to pack some of her clothes and was nowhere to be found. 


She said she immediately called her pastor to inform him of what was happening but that he failed to take the several calls she gave him. She said he came later and told her that he saw her missed calls but couldn’t pick because his phone was bad. 


She said she told him what was happening and that she wanted to know if Kabira was at his place, and he said he hadn’t seen Kabira and that she wasnt at his house. 


She added that the day her daughter went missing, the pastor was at her house in the morning when she was scolding Kabira and he even rebuked her for placing curses on her daughter. 


The mother said while searching for Kabira, the clergyman would come to her house to ask if she has seen Kabira and that even the cleric’s wife came by her house sometimes to tell her not to think about her missing daughter and that the whole incident will end in praise.


She said Kabira was found after she made a call to her to come and rescue her.


When interrogated, the victim, who is already six months pregnant, said the clergyman has been raping her since 2021. She said on the day of the incident, the suspect took her to an uncompleted building where he was raping her.


When interrogated, the cleric pleaded with the world to have mercy on him.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
