Courtney Fannon was only 4 weeks from finally meeting her little baby, Hadley Jaye Fannon, when she unexpectedly collapsed at the school where she worked in Kendall, NewYork. There were no students in attendance as all of the Kendall Central teachers were on campus completing professional development trainings.
According to reports she had just texted her husband of 10 years on the afternoon of March 8th. She was wrapping up her day and gathered her stuff to head home when she suddenly collapsed.
She was soon discovered unresponsive by an unidentified school employee and a 911 call was placed. Paramedics rushed on scene and Courtney was rushed to a nearby hospital where extensive life saving efforts were administered to both Courtney and Hadley.
Sadly, both mother and daughter where pronounced dead by 6:30 p.m that evening.
Courtney had been teaching special education in the district since 2018.
Courtney was a special education teacher who served her students with passion and joy each day,” according to a message by District Superintendent Nicholas Picardo.
The school was dismissed on Monday due to this tragedy and counselors have been made available.
Not just the school, but the community at large has been shocked and saddened by these untimely deaths.
"They were called to eternal rest the night of March 8th, after a very tragic and unexpected turn of events,” according to the GoFundMe post.
The cause of death is undetermined at this point.
