 APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL PRESS STATEMENT ATIKU MUST EXPLAIN THE LEGAL AND FISCAL BASIS OF HIS PETROL SUBSIDY PROPOSAL At his press conference in Abuja on Friday, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar reiterated his proposed  “production subsidy” for locally refined petrol, which he said would reduce pump prices. He went further to ask President Bola Tinubu to slash the cost of diesel and petrol at the pump. That proposal raises important legal, fiscal and practical questions that he must answer. Section 205(1) of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 provides that unrestricted free-market conditions shall determine wholesale and retail prices of petroleum products. The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, in a statement on Saturday, explained that it neither fixes pump prices nor issues administrative price templates, except where the statutory conditions for intervention are met. U. S. MARSHALL'S ARREST WANTED SEX OFFENDER DEEP IN A LOUISIANA SWAMP LIVING OFF OF SMALL GAME AND RODENTS. (PHOTO).

 U.S. Marshall's arrest wanted sex offender deep in a Louisana swamp living off of small game and rodents.


Authorities received a tip in early March on the whereabouts of a fugitive sex offender. According to the tip, Brian Schaller was living deep in the swamp in the Atchafalaya Basin in Louisiana.


A multiple agency force was set up to find and arrest Schaller.


Authorities found Schaller this week living in a structure he had erected out of logs, tarps and parachute chord. Schaller had also used the parachute chord to set up snares to catch small game and rodents which he survived on. In addition he had used the parachute cord and tin cans to set up a makeshift alarm.


Schaller was indicted in 2015 on a distribution of CP charge. He had an active warrant for Violation of S/O registry terms, as well as multiple sexual battery charges. 


Authorities did a great job finding him. His hideout gave me serious  "The Lovely Bones" vibes.
