A Fort Campbell soldier has been arrested for selling military secrets to China.
A grand jury has handed down an indictment for Sgt. Korbein Schultz on multiple conspiracy charges. Schultz was arrested on Thursday at Fort Campbell, Tennessee.
The charges against Schultz include conspiracy to export defense articles, bribery of a public official, exporting technical defense data,and conspiracy to obtain and disclose national defense information.
In the indictment, prosecutors allege that Schultz used his top secret clearance to transport plans, maps, writings, notes and photographs to Hong Kong. A situation which began in June of 2022 and continued until his arrest on Thursday.
Officials state that Schultz received 14 payments totaling $42,000 since 2022.
