 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  Why we banned political gatherings – Benue govt


The Benue State Government has stated reasons it banned political gatherings and meetings in the state.


It said the insecurity in the state made Governor Hyacinth Alia to take the measure.


The state government said the ban covers all forms of intra-party and inter-group meetings in the north-central state till further notice.


This was revealed by the governor’s Chief of Staff, Paul Biam, adding that the ban became necessary because of the volatility of the security atmosphere in Benue.


He lamented that the security atmosphere became charged, following what he described as the unprecedented influx of armed herdsmen into the state.


The Chief of Staff in his letter to the state Commissioner of Police, urged him to enforce the directive on the ban.
