 Sudan urges displaced citizens abroad to return home Sudan has called on all displaced citizens living abroad to return home, as the government steps up efforts to facilitate voluntary repatriation and remove barriers facing returnees. Prime Minister Kamil Idris said his office is committed to easing the return process and ensuring citizens can actively contribute to rebuilding the country, state media SUNA reports. Speaking during a visit to the Ashkeit border crossing in Wadi Halfa, Idris said authorities have taken steps to eliminate illegal levies and ensure that returning citizens are not subjected to additional fees, compulsory charges or arbitrary customs duties. He noted that such practices had previously placed an unnecessary burden on citizens without benefiting the state.  ‘A Nice Idea,’ Elumelu Weighs In On Acquiring NPFL Club


Billionaire banker and Chairman of United Bank for Africa, Tony Elumelu, has described the possibility of acquiring one of the local clubs of the Nigeria Professional Football League as a nice idea.


Elumelu made this known on Monday via his X (formerly Twitter) handle.


The billionaire businessman was reacting to an X user’s suggestion that top businessmen and top corporations should acquire the Nigeria league clubs to drive competition.


Earlier on Tuesday, the X user, LawyerDayo, said, “Can we get the President and Ministry of Sport to weigh in on the big corporations in Nigeria to buy at least one league club as part of CSR? Imagine Dangote buys Kano Pillars, BUA buys Kwara United, Elumelu acquires Rivers United, and Geregu takes over 3SC. Imagine the competition.”

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
