  NINE PEOPLE ARRESTED AS CULT CLASH ROCKS BENUE BURIAL CEREMONY  PAt least nine suspected cult members have been arrested after a violent clash disrupted a burial ceremony in Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State. The incident reportedly led to the destruction of homes and valuables, with several individuals still unaccounted for. Tension gripped parts of Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State after a violent clash involving suspected cult groups left properties destroyed and several persons missing. The incident occurred in Abenga, Mbakya, and Mbabur communities during the burial of one Dugeri Terhemen, popularly known as “Black Deal.” According to local sources, the burial ceremony was disrupted by clashes between rival groups, leading to chaos in the affected areas.  ‘A Nice Idea,’ Elumelu Weighs In On Acquiring NPFL Club


Billionaire banker and Chairman of United Bank for Africa, Tony Elumelu, has described the possibility of acquiring one of the local clubs of the Nigeria Professional Football League as a nice idea.


Elumelu made this known on Monday via his X (formerly Twitter) handle.


The billionaire businessman was reacting to an X user’s suggestion that top businessmen and top corporations should acquire the Nigeria league clubs to drive competition.


Earlier on Tuesday, the X user, LawyerDayo, said, “Can we get the President and Ministry of Sport to weigh in on the big corporations in Nigeria to buy at least one league club as part of CSR? Imagine Dangote buys Kano Pillars, BUA buys Kwara United, Elumelu acquires Rivers United, and Geregu takes over 3SC. Imagine the competition.”
