 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results.  Anambra Police Commissioner, Adeoye Bows Out After 35 Years Meritorious Service To Nigeria

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr Aderemi Adeoye, has bowed out of Nigeria Police Force after thirty-five years of service.


The ceremony attracted Governor Chukwuma Soludo represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, former Chairman Police Service Commission, Chief Simon Okeke, service commanders, traditional rulers, members of Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) and other stakeholders.


Speaking at the Pull-out Ceremony, the Women and Social Welfare Commissioner, Hon Ify Obinabo extolled CP Adeoye for his love towards fighting for the vulnerable women and children in the state and prayed God to continue to protect his family for the work he has done. 


The Women Affairs boss who teased the CP to approve pending cases from her ministry before finally bowing out of office noted that she's confident that he will uphold the legacy and fight for the vulnerable anywhere he finds himself.


Earlier, a pull-out parade was held in his honour at Alex Ekwueme Square Awka in line with police tradition while the Pull-out ceremony took place at International Conference Center Awka.
