 RE: MISLEADING CLAIMS REGARDING EXTORTION OF MOTORISTS BY LAGOS STATE TASKFORCE – YET-TO-BE-IDENTIFIED SECURITY OPERATIVES: ANOTHER CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY The Lagos State Taskforce wishes to address a misleading narrative circulating on social media, particularly in a viral video shared by protesters and concerned groups who recently demonstrated at the Lagos State House of Assembly. The protest was in response to the alleged extortion of motorists by security operatives, yet to be identified, who are not officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit. We categorically state that the Lagos State Taskforce had no involvement in the said incident. Our enforcement teams are led by seasoned, well-trained, and highly disciplined senior officers who are far too professional and educated to jeopardise their ranks, integrity, and years of service for personal gain.  Anambra Police Commissioner, Adeoye Bows Out After 35 Years Meritorious Service To Nigeria

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr Aderemi Adeoye, has bowed out of Nigeria Police Force after thirty-five years of service.


The ceremony attracted Governor Chukwuma Soludo represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, former Chairman Police Service Commission, Chief Simon Okeke, service commanders, traditional rulers, members of Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) and other stakeholders.


Speaking at the Pull-out Ceremony, the Women and Social Welfare Commissioner, Hon Ify Obinabo extolled CP Adeoye for his love towards fighting for the vulnerable women and children in the state and prayed God to continue to protect his family for the work he has done. 


The Women Affairs boss who teased the CP to approve pending cases from her ministry before finally bowing out of office noted that she's confident that he will uphold the legacy and fight for the vulnerable anywhere he finds himself.


Earlier, a pull-out parade was held in his honour at Alex Ekwueme Square Awka in line with police tradition while the Pull-out ceremony took place at International Conference Center Awka.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
