 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8.  Anambra Police Commissioner  Confers With Dike Ochioha 1 Of Ogbunka Kingdom

The outgoing Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Police Command, CP Aderemi Adeoye has been conferred with a chieftaincy title in Anambra community.


The chieftaincy title, Dike Ochioha 1 was bestowed on him by the Traditional Ruler of Ogbunka Kingdom in Orumba South LGA of Anambra State, HRH Igwe J.M. Anyaoha following the approval of Anambra State Government for the conferment of Chieftaincy title on the Commissioner.


The event which held on Sunday, April 28, equally witnessed the conferment of Ada Eji Ejemba 1 on the commissioner’s wife, Mrs. Bolanle Adeoye.


Recall that CP Aderemi will be retiring from Nigeria Police Force on May 1 this year, having served in the Force for 35 years and  several activities have been lined up to mark his official disengagement from Service, part of which was the Pull Out Parade held in his honour at the Alex Ekwueme Square over the weekend.
