 “No electricity, no vote,” South Africans threaten to shun ruling party ANC Residents in Katlehong, a township outside Johannesburg, have resolved to boycott South Africa's upcoming local elections on November 4 due to long-standing failures by authorities to provide basic services like electricity. For over 20 years, around 180 households in the community have relied on illegal electrical connections pulled from neighboring areas to power their homes. Angry over the lack of formal grid infrastructure, residents are directing their frustration at the ruling African National Congress (ANC). "We have made a collective decision: no electricity, no vote," said community leader Lesiba Rankapole, 59. "We know it is illegal, but we had no choice because we cannot live without electricity.  Ruthless Arsenal inflict heaviest season defeat on Chelsea


Ruthless Arsenal inflicted the heaviest defeat on Chelsea this season at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday to hold on to top spot in the premier league.

The Gunners demolished Chelsea 5-0 in a five-star performance, converting five of their 10 shots on target.

Arsenal opened the scoring four minutes into the game. Declan Rice played a pass to the feet of Leandro Trossard, and he shot into the bottom left corner from inside the box.

Few minutes into the second half, Arsenal doubled their lead. Ben White fired the rebound into the bottom left corner after the ball broke to him in the box.

In the 57th minute, Martin Odegaard slipped a clever pass through to Kai Havertz, who moved inside the box and sent a measured shot beyond the keeper and into the roof of the net to make it 3-0.

In the 68th minute, Bukayo Saka passed the ball into the penalty area. Havertz collected it and quickly sent it into the bottom right corner via the post for the fourth goal.

Arsenal completed their humiliation of Chelsea five minutes later. Ben White showed good composure inside the box to fire a first-time shot into the top left corner to make it 5-0.
