Kaduna businessman drags ex fiancee’s father to court, demands dowry refund A businessman, Nasiru Dayyabu, on Wednesday, dragged the father of his ex-fiance, Mallam Sani Direba, to Shari’a Court II sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over N260,000 dowry. The complainant had joined Direba in the suit against two brothers demanding a refund of N250, 000 dowry and N10,000 introduction money he paid to marry his daughter. Represented by his counsel, Mr Sani Sunusi, the complainant told the court that he sent his people from Karaye, Kano State to Kaduna in 2025, to seek for the defendant’s daughter’s hand in marriage. “We paid the dowry and the introduction money (kudin gausuwa) and were waiting for them to set a date for the wedding,” he said. “Unfortunately, the lady’s father called to inform us that they have cancelled the marriage.” The counsel said the complainant had asked for the refund of his money since Sept. 2025 but all the efforts he made proved abortive.  Don’t run when EFCC invites you – Cubana Chief Priest tells Nigerians


Popular socialite Pascal Okechukwu, aka Cubana Chief Priest, has urged Nigerians not to evade the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.


He said operatives of the anti-graft agency don’t manhandle suspects, adding that they only “investigate and prosecute.”


He noted that the EFCC would always catch those who run away from invites or resist arrest regardless of where they hide.


The socialite praised the hospitality of the agency, stressing that they serve three-square meals in their cell.


On his Instagram page, Cubana Chief Priest wrote: “The Eagle will always fly so high to catch you wherever you hide.


“No need to run when @officialefcc invites you, just pull up and answer them, they don’t bite, they don’t beat, they only investigate and prosecute. For their cell, toilet & bathroom dey, even breakfast, lunch & dinner is served so tell me why are you running.”


Cubana Chief Priest was recently arraigned before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court, Lagos, by the EFCC on a three-count charge bordering on abuse of the Naira.


He was, however, granted bail for N10 million with two sureties in like sum after pleading not guilty.
