 Anambra :Otu Odu Society Is To Value Culture, Reach Out To People Says Iyom Ugodiche  By Juliana Nwachukwu  Mrs Ijeoma Obiegbunam, wife of a business magnate, Oba Ifeanyi Obiegbunam, who was conferred with a Chieftaincy title of Iyom Ugodiche on April 20, said that Otu Odu Society is to value culture and reach out to people. Mrs Obiegbunam who said this to Newsmen after her conferment by the Otu Odu Society of Agukwu Nri, Anaocha Local Government Area, Anambra State, said that it involved lots of things including finances. According to her, It is not just a society meant for every woman but women of honour who stand by the truth and display humility. Two things are necessary in this Otu Odu society, one is to value culture, that is to uphold the culture of the Igbo race and the second one is to reach out to people.  Nigerian Billionaire, E-money Pledges To Raise Junior Pope’s Children 


Nigerian billionaire, Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-money, has adopted the children of the late Nollywood actor, John Paul Odowondo, popularly known as Junior Pope.


E-money, in a post on his Instagram page on Wednesday, said he is committed to honouring the vows of the deceased actor.

Naija News reports that E-money, in a post on his Instagram page on Wednesday, said he is committed to honouring the vows of the deceased actor.


Recall that Junior Pope and four Nollywood crew died last Wednesday in a river in Anambra State while returning from a movie production.


In the last video shared on his Instagram page, Junior Pope lamented not having a life jacket and the risk they take to entertain their fans.


Part of the statement read, “Na only me dem born ooo, I get three children, na me go raise them.”


In response to the statement, E-money pledged to nurture Junior Pope’s children adding that they are now part of the Okonkwo’s family.


He wrote, “It has been one week since you departed from this world, leaving behind a profound sense of loss that reverberates not only among us but also across Africa and beyond. Your presence, as both a friend and a brother, is deeply missed, JP. The weight of your absence bears heavily upon our hearts, yet we draw comfort from the belief that God will grant us the resilience to carry forward and uphold the legacy you’ve entrusted to us.


“We tenderly remember your final words on the boat, “NA ONLY ME DEM BORN I GET 3 CHILDREN NA ME GO RAISE THEM,” and we solemnly commit to honoring that vow. Your children now find solace in the embrace of the Okonkwo family, and we, as members of that family, pledge to nurture them as you would have wished. Your absence leaves a palpable void, JP, and your memory will forever be held dear.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
