 Stop making movies projecting Nigerians as uncivilised – Yul Edochie tells Nollywood producers Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has urged filmmakers in the country to desist from making movies that project Nigerians as clowns and uncivilised when they travel abroad. He noted that movie producers are tarnishing the image of the country with such storylines. He advised them to rather tell stories where Nigerians travel abroad and proffer “traditional solutions to problems and become leaders over there.” On his Instagram page, Edochie wrote: “I wish our producers will stop making films where Nigerians travel abroad, dey mumu. We sell ourselves short with such storylines. “Oyibo people will never make a movie where a white man is foolish on African soil. Instead they’ll make the white man smarter than all the Africans in the movie. “It’s intentional. Garden egg seller arrested for raping unsound minor


Operatives attached to Operation Restore Peace (ORP) Bauchi State Police Command arrested Sanusi Umar 'm' 23 years old on the 28th March 2024 at about 2100hrs for raping a 10-year-old boy (name withheld). 


The suspect lured the minor with a thirty naira (N30) sweet and asked the victim to accompany him to an isolated area behind the AIB filling station along Kofar Ran to defecate. After the defection, the suspect asked the victim to undress his trouser that he wanted to see whether he clean his anus. Upon removing his trousers, the suspect also removed his trousers, grabbed the victim from the back and had canal knowledge of him. The victim rushed to the manager of the filling station and informed him that the said suspect had canal knowledge of him. 


Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect hails from Jingino village, Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa state. He came to Bauchi state about two years ago, hawking garden eggs at AIB filling station along Kofar Ran, Bauchi. It is also revealed that the suspect leveraged the unsound mental condition of the victim to perpetrate such a crime on him. 


The victim was rushed to the ATBU Teaching Hospital, Bauchi alongside the the suspect, where different tests were conducted on him to determine his health status. The investigation is still in progress, after which the suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation. 


Finally, the Commissioner of Police CP Auwal Musa Mohammed psc calls parents, Guardians, and leaders wielding various degrees of influence to prevail on their wards and proteges to shy away from crime.

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours.
